Usually I only make posters for Selah Sue and her concerts. But this time I decided to use an unfinished one of my collection for a special time.
Fanpage This World of Selah Sue got 2'000 followers today, which is huge.
It seems that polish fangirl deserves : every day she spends her time with collecting lots of things, pics, videos, sometimes in a dziki way but whatever.
She shares good vibes and she gets back love.
She talks polish but also english too and sometimes spanish but also portuguese and even french.
She wants to be exhaustive and perfect on what she does: nobody can't be... but actually she's good at it !
She plays guitar, she writes, she can cover Selah Sue, sometimes she can study also.
Sometimes she's white, sometimes she's black but most of time she's more in grey. Like her cat.

Anyway, this "full" version (with lots of different instruments voice/mechanical/computer) is that great.

Both guitars. Listen well and you could even notice Selah + Selah.

High voice of Selah marries well harmonies.
Lovelier than into the acoustic version.

Lots of different voices are making the song, electro male+females ones.

If you go until the end, you even got a happy ending with such a nice Carribean tune.

After all, she may already planned her holidays, the ones after her Reason Tour...

It's been just 2 years ago that this moment happened for the first time, and it just came in my mind while, randomly, I was just recalling this moment to a friend.

Rijsel. Concert done. We are three to wait near to the german bus. A girl, her mother maybe and me. My belgian car is not so far so that I have time to take things, ready to be signed. It is cold. Really colder than today, exactly 2 years later. Anyway I know that I won't wait in vain.
Some tens of minutes after the show, first people come from the opposite street with sound equipments to store into the bus. Some L'Aéronef people, some backliners. I friendly ask one of them, a little mustach man, if they waited for someone, as the bus doesn't start after a long time. This guy answers me that "anyway the bus will go directly there" so that I wouldn't have to expect anything... as he saw me waiting for almost 2 hours.

"No waste of time man! Et ouais", he says.

That night, this mustach man couldn't stop the progression of my Selah fan story yet.
Always that calm nighty ambiance... Some talking weirdo walking near to the bus. Même pas peur.

I know I don't have to leave this front of bus, while everyone else could gently go back to their car and home.

And suddenly, I see 2 or 3 people and a big-haired girl walking on the footbridge.
The concert is done since 2 hours and a half. She's walking very quietly to us, with a little bunch of people I don't know.
She's ready to enter the bus but "quickly", she takes the time to take pictures, signs and has a laugh with some flemish speaking buddies before getting on the bus.
Positive vibes that annihilate every negative one I could have found in front of this bus before.

I already was a fan of Selah Sue; that morning I kinda became a fan of Sanne Putseys too.

I used pixelahsition because I don't know if concerned people
would like that their picture to be broadcasted on the internet this way.

I miss Selah Sue.

Tonight, Selah Sue gave a concert in Budapest, Hungary.
She told this afternoon that it was "(their) very last show".
OK.

But I can't believe this.
I can't believe that this show is dead.


I can't believe that this typical setlist [2010-2013] could die tonight.

And how long until I could take new pictures with the combo flower/hat/glasses on again ?

Will the second (real) batch of concerts give the same talented people on stage ?

Is it planned that the three bandeaux will be thrown to the fire ?

Will the fan be powered on again one day ?

If in 2013, Selah Sue has done new countries, done again lot of other ones, namely Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Hungary, Japan, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, and U.S.A., look attentively at this list of countries again.
I did it again and again. You'll realize like me that...

France doesn't take part of this list.

Question: est-ce qu'une année tout entière sans Selah Sue est envisageable ?
Réponse: je crains bien que non. Mentalement impossible.
C'est bien trop dur et frustrant de voir passer les dates, sans qu'aucune ne concerne la France.
Et même si un concert était prévu à Paris ce 10 août dernier, ce n'était que la retransmission d'un ancien concert sur écran géant... Fausse joie.


Et parce qu'en cherchant aussi un concert de Selah Sue à Paris, on tombera très vite sur la vérité.

So you got it. Are you fan of Selah Sue ? So you have to be patient. That's the deal.
After she must have made of "dormir" her very first job in 2013, on february 22nd, Sanne told her Facebook fans that "Album 2 (was) gonna be it" ! Like she knew which direction she wanted to give it.

Then we had the Hä.-D. ad released, that was our first gift of 2013.
Sorry. She met Walk Off the Earth in USA last november, they covered that beautiful love song and we got the result on january 15th. Very first gift.
So, two songs released in almost 5 monthes of a year.
Are you happy with that ?

I think I can wait some more weeks myself for more new songs.
Even monthes.
The longer we have to wait, the best new songs will be.
How could it be otherwise ? ("I'll make all of ur waiting worth while")
But major condition: getting some scheduled concerts until the end of 2013.
The best area would be around Rijsel, of course.
Paris or Brussels may suit.

If you "can't wait to play some for u(s), start touring again.. the band, crew, u(s)", then what you're waiting for ? Let's plan a (small) meet-ups here and there ! I know that somewhere in Poland or Belgium, that kind of gifts would be appreciated too.

Oh yes, I forgot that a far-far-away tour will soon start with concerts in La Réunion, USA or Canada...
But after that, I see lots of free spaces in summer for meet-ups we've just talked about. Hehe.

● She only speaks english and dutch. May I advice her to add some more languages in her profile like french and dread-talk ?

● She's singer at Because music since 2006. I didn't know that it dated so early !
At least she says she "started (her) career in 2006", when she was 17 and here I can believe.

● Her interest(s) is "music" and she studies psychology at Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven.

New Year gift: another S+S raritie

The Fan is in a great happiness to have found out this quite rare sound of Selah Sue.
Some of you do know what I'm talking about, you know, when you discover something which seems to be very rare: it was time to share!

I think this is the Raggamuffin shortest version I've never heard.
The video gives 2 minutes 19 seconds of guitar, including milliseconds of silence.
So it's acoustic and with no "In New York they want me" introduction.
Short, fun and a bit "demo". And of course efficient!

I think it was recorded at the end of 2010 or very beginning of 2011.
So it would be an early recording, as Selah Sue debut album was released on march 4th.

What shocked me are the weird cries she does. Never heard them like that.
Hope you'll be shocked too, lol.

Some FNAC worker gives his opinion about this last compilation of indetendances concept, and I let you translate if you ever wouldn't speak french:

C'est pour cela que chaque artiste, plutôt que de donner un des titres de ses albums, vienne enregistrer dans un studio un version acoustique du titre de son choix. Avec une petite règle, seulement 2 heures de temps pour donner vie à la chanson ! (...) Au final, cela a donné lieu à des instants assez magiques, où la découverte du studio et de ses équipements auront donné l'envie aux artistes de partir sur une idée différente de laquelle ils s'étaient préparé avant de mettre les pieds dans le studio. (...) Selah Sue nous aura surprise également par sa chanson Raggamuffin, enregistrée en une seule prise !

We do understand more why Sanne slacked a bit herself!
Moreover, that "amateur" acoustic sound gives a bit more the sensation of raritie, to have been recorded, maybe not for a future release.

But here we got it, and I'm happy with that!

Selah Sue is black !

Now that I've just found out that she takes part of the rnb/hip hop/rap/dance/soul german compilation Best of Black winter Party 2013 to be released on january 18th.

 

The title This world gives a dark color to Selah Sue's skin.
And I think there's no link with Kinder Bueno.
