Tonight is the night

Exactly 3 years ago.
First concert.
First pictures.
Tonight.
Same place.
15 concerts after.
Excitation is here.
Emotion will be there.
Such a loop is so great to live for me as a fan of this music.
This music which revealed to me like the best mix of what life could bring.
So powerful, so emotional, so caregiver.
Don't know really how to thank her.
Or should I say how to thank THEM.

"You need concerts every 4 weeks",
so I ordered my drugs that way until the end of year.

The song that changed everything

There are some days, some moments that are some kind of magical.
Some moments where you can't explain what is just happening.
That you live something exceptional and only yourself realize.
That you could smile or seem happier and that people around you may see your face changes, but whatever.
So much the better for everyone.

Where yesterday, in front of my tabs booklet, I didn't know "what song to work on".
When my music teacher asked me, Destiny let me turn sheets of one by one.
And I fell on Raggamuffin (Sanne Putseys, 2010).
OK. To play this song, you must "be rhythmed" yourself and enjoy doing bar chords.
It is sure: it wasn't me when I asked him to study Raggamuffin.

"Oh yes, I know that song !", he said, and started to hum the song.
Then I started to do the first notes, and he did the following after he saw the right chords on my score.

"This is a song you even play it funky !".
OK, right. Play it funky. Do you know me, really ?
And he showed me.

It's a story of "ups and downs", of "ternary" thing, of doing it "5 times...
Of trying and doing it successfully, and glimpse things more than more in grey.

It was like Raggamuffin became one of my friends.
The chords didn't sound so perfectly but I did bars like I never did before.
It let enter inexplicable energy into my arms, body and mind, so much that I would have been ready to play like the whole Selah songbook !

Other artists songs came also and all these songs semt to come so well that I made a wish at this moment.
The wish that later I could be able to play like I did during this incredible discovery moment:
Raggamuffin still a bit seems to be one of my friends.

Thank you Thomas, thank you Selah (once more), and Merry Christmas to everyone who read this blog...

PS: After the lesson, Raggamuffin helped me also to become a perfect xylophonist for a jam session.

Amazing.

It's been just 2 years ago that this moment happened for the first time, and it just came in my mind while, randomly, I was just recalling this moment to a friend.

Rijsel. Concert done. We are three to wait near to the german bus. A girl, her mother maybe and me. My belgian car is not so far so that I have time to take things, ready to be signed. It is cold. Really colder than today, exactly 2 years later. Anyway I know that I won't wait in vain.
Some tens of minutes after the show, first people come from the opposite street with sound equipments to store into the bus. Some L'Aéronef people, some backliners. I friendly ask one of them, a little mustach man, if they waited for someone, as the bus doesn't start after a long time. This guy answers me that "anyway the bus will go directly there" so that I wouldn't have to expect anything... as he saw me waiting for almost 2 hours.

"No waste of time man! Et ouais", he says.

That night, this mustach man couldn't stop the progression of my Selah fan story yet.
Always that calm nighty ambiance... Some talking weirdo walking near to the bus. Même pas peur.

I know I don't have to leave this front of bus, while everyone else could gently go back to their car and home.

And suddenly, I see 2 or 3 people and a big-haired girl walking on the footbridge.
The concert is done since 2 hours and a half. She's walking very quietly to us, with a little bunch of people I don't know.
She's ready to enter the bus but "quickly", she takes the time to take pictures, signs and has a laugh with some flemish speaking buddies before getting on the bus.
Positive vibes that annihilate every negative one I could have found in front of this bus before.

I already was a fan of Selah Sue; that morning I kinda became a fan of Sanne Putseys too.

I used pixelahsition because I don't know if concerned people
would like that their picture to be broadcasted on the internet this way.

I miss Selah Sue.
